At The Pet Doctor we strive to bring you the best in veterinary care.
We're excited to let everyone know about the ways we practice the best medicine while helping to improve our community.
THE PET DOCTOR IS GOING GREEN!!

  • We care about you, your pets and the world that we all share!  We are working toward being a sustainable veterinary practice!
  • We recycle an average of 100 lbs per week of plastic, glass and paper.
  • We send all medical wastes to a certified handler. We do not place any sharps into the landfills.
  • We properly dispose of outdated medications through a certified reverse distributor. No medications into the waste stream!
  • We have calculated our average energy use at this site (electricity and natural gas) over the last 12 months. We have established an energy reduction goal of at least 10% of your annual energy usage at this site.
  • We have developed strategies to increase the efficiency of our heating, cooling, and ventilation system. We have a policy in place requiring all new equipment to meet ENERGY STAR rating standards.
  • We have designated our building and office space as smoke free.
  • We have a No Idling Plan for loading zones and parking lots.
  • We use Green Seal certified cleaners for cleaning supplies whenever possible.
  • We have conducted a waste stream audit which quantifies in either pounds or in cubic feet the amount of waste/trash generated.
  • We have established a recycling policy for all office materials in coordination with our recycling provider.
  • We utilize double sided copying.
  • We circulate documents electronically and are a paper light practice with electronic medical records rather than paper records.
  • We purchase 30-50% Post-Consumer Recycled Copier/Printer Paper.
  • We stock re-useable items such as real plates, mugs, water pitchers and silverware in our lunch/break room?
  • We have installed water conserving devices on our existing toilets and faucets.
  • We reduced copier/printer power consumption by using Stand By mode after 15 minutes of non-use.
  • We will continue to work toward being an environmentally responsible business.
