After Hours Emergency
We hope that you never have to deal with an emergency illness or injury involving your pet. We are always glad to see your pet on an immediate basis during our regular business hours.
We practice triage, so if you come in with a seriously ill or injured pet, you will be seen immediately. If you can call us and let us know you are coming, please do. If you are unable to call, please come in as quickly as you can and we will see your pet as soon as you arrive.

For emergencies with your pet that occur outside of our regular business hours, we recommend the following:
The Pet Doctor is a stockholder clinic with The Animal Emergency Clinic in St. Louis.
This means that there is not an emergency fee or examination fee charged to our patients that go to see them for the following conditions:
- Vaccine reactions
- Post surgical complications that occur within 7 days after surgery
Any treatments or medications that are given will be charged.

Hours: They are open 24 hours a day
For a critical or life-threatening illness or injury, we recommend the VSS Emergency Center. The VSS Emergency Center offers emergency care and 24 hour inpatient care for pets with urgent or critical medical problems. VSS is a multi-specialty, referral only practice that offers highly qualified and board certified specialists that can help your pet with any emergency that may occur.
