Intensive Care Unit
Visitors to our hospital may be surprised by the level of advanced medical care that we provide for their pets. Our intensive care unit is a very busy part of our hospital. Pets who need more intense monitoring are kept in this area. The ICU is used as an anesthesia and surgical recovery area. This gives us an opportunity to monitor pets and make sure that they are stable after a medical procedure. Pets who need oxygen therapy can be kept in this area in a special kennel that is equipped to deliver oxygen. Pets who need intravenous fluid therapy associated with surgery or with an illness or injury are also housed in this area. We are equipped with programmable intravenous fluid pumps that can deliver precise amounts of medication and fluid therapy as needed. Our veterinarians and veterinary technicians work closely with the pets in this area and make sure that your pet is receiving close attention during his stay.
