Virgil – Adopted!

by Dr. Kelly | 12th December 2011

Virgil is a 14-16 week old puppy. Our best guess is this guy is a classic mixed pup. He is a very sweet mellow guy that likes to play with other dogs and does well with cats. He lives with a small dog and two larger dogs and a cat. He also has a 4 year old human boy that he loves to cuddle with and is very gentle. He is doing awesome with crate training and house training. He sleeps through the night and has only had one accident in the house. He is very smart and willing to please. This little dude is ready for a home to call his own. He already knows sit and how to take treats gently. If you are looking for a perfect companion, look no further Virgil is your man.

We just lost our twelve year old Dane and we are anxious to find another companion who needs a forever home. We have been looking at Danes because that is what we have had over the last 20 years however I just caught a glimpse of Virgil and fell in love. Only one small problem we live in Arkansas.. Do you accept applications from out of state? Traveling to see your animals is not a problem and maybe my vet here could give you a recommendation and do the home visit?

A little information about us – we have a huge fenced in backyard, no kids, and recently no other dogs or animals. The adoptee would be an indoor dog and travel with us when we travel. We would love to adopt one or possibly two dogs. We are willing to go to obedience classes or crate or whatever is necessary to give our friend a great life.

Please let me know if this is possible. Thank you for your time and the important work you do.
    Sincerely,
    Lacy and John Eidt

What a perfect dog! Is he a dog that likes to be a leader or just likes to be apart of the pack? How big is he?

Virgil is a big kid! His foster says he’s already about 35 pounds!!! If you give us a call, we can pass along your contact info to his foster mommy and she’ll give you more details. (636) 561-9122

We are not certain that Virgil is 100% dane, it’s really just a guess due to his size. He is definitely a mix of some sort. I have yet to see him in person but he looks Dane-like in his pictures. We are ok with adopting out of state to the right home with good references. If you want, call us and we’ll pass along your info to Virgil’s foster so she can answer more questions for you.
